Child Mind Institute mental health for children

From Proof-of-Concept to $25M Investment

Built the long-term product strategy and roadmap that unlocked $25M in follow-on investment.

The Client
Child Mind Institute has developed an open source tool for clinicians to develop mobile apps without code to facilitate the improvement of mental health for children. Clinicians struggle with not having a lot of resources available and antiquated tools to support their patients. Mindlogger was born to solve some of these problems in a very modular way.
The Challenge
The product was struggling to move away from the proof of concept and investors were losing confidence in Mindlogger moving to the next phase of maturity. Stakeholders on the project were struggling to determine how to productionize and develop a monetization strategy.
How We Helped
Deployed the Industry’s Best Practices

We integrated the Scrum Framework into the organization’s key teams and hired experts in the roles necessary to evaluate the quality of the delivery. Within months, the key stakeholders and investors regained full confidence in the team and the velocity of high quality features being developed.

We guided the team in adopting industry-standard development practices, including CI/CD pipelines, modular architecture, and robust QA protocols. This shift enabled the team to confidently support real-world clinical use cases and improved investor confidence in the product’s readiness for growth.

Strengthened Team Alignment and Decision-Making Through Data

We introduced key product metrics and feedback loops that helped the team prioritize features based on usage data and clinician feedback. This data-driven approach brought clarity to decision-making, reduced internal friction, and kept the team focused on delivering measurable outcomes.

Translated Vision into a Scalable Product Roadmap

We facilitated a cross-functional effort to align stakeholders around a unified vision and transformed the proof-of-concept into a scalable product roadmap. By prioritizing features based on clinical value and technical feasibility, we positioned Mindlogger to evolve from a research-driven prototype into a sustainable digital health solution.

We also entered into vertical opportunities to facilitate data collection through clinical research tools that could be configured by the researcher. Over a couple of years of sustained growth, our investment and partnership opportunities were worldwide.

Defined Monetization Pathways and Strategic Partnerships

We led workshops to identify viable monetization strategies, such as white-label licensing for clinics, data-backed research partnerships, and B2B SaaS offerings. These efforts opened new revenue channels and reframed the product as a platform with commercial potential, reigniting investor interest.

  • Lead to a 25 million dollar investment
  • Worldwide recognition and partnerships
  • Grants awarded from the most well known companies

Every quarter you stay the product brain is another quarter the team ships the wrong things — and another quarter further from a Head of Product hire that will actually work.
